Drone Days – the trade show that isn’t a trade show. Its origins date back to the ILA 2024 in Berlin. It was there, in the North German Chalet, that a brilliant idea took shape during discussions among passionate stakeholders: Why not create an event that brings together the fascination with drone technology and the strong North German community?
Originally planned as a drone event for northern Germany, it became clear during the initial discussions and planning phase that the demand was much greater—the community wanted more, to think more globally, to network, and to grow together. The organizing team, consisting of b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH, the Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports, and Transformation, Bremen Economic Development Agency, and Aviaspace Bremen, rose to the challenge. With just six weeks’ notice, the idea turned into an impressive event with around 180 participants.
The success of the first Drone Days 2024 spoke for itself: After the premiere, it was immediately clear—the next edition would need more space, more days, and more opportunities! So, a three-day event was developed for 2025 at two very special locations: The Hatten-UAS German Flight Center at Oldenburg-Hatten Airport, with its rustic and welcoming atmosphere, offers perfect conditions for hands-on demonstrations, while Bremen International Airport opens the door to the world and provides a modern conference experience. A balance that perfectly suits the different facets of Drone Days: suits on Wednesday, jeans on Thursday, and top-notch entertainment through Friday.
This growth and the diversity of the event are only possible thanks to strong, collaborative partnerships with a wide range of active stakeholders: The state of Lower Saxony, the state of Bremen, the Northwest Metropolitan Region, the Oldenburg District Economic Development Agency, the municipality of Hatten, Bremen Airport, and Oldenburg-Hatten Airport together make Drone Days what it is—a northern German community event with international appeal, created for and by the community.
The program features exciting exhibitors, panel discussions, expert presentations, air shows, a symposium, networking opportunities, innovative UAS solutions, and a delightful supporting program—an event that is far more than a traditional trade show. Here, technology meets genuine enthusiasm, personal interaction meets professional networking, and community meets innovation.

The idea came to Mr. Harald Rossol during conversations at the ILA 2024 in Challeé, northern Germany
Just six weeks after the idea was conceived, the first Drone Days took place on August 30, 2024, at the Oldenburg-Hatten airfield. Approximately 180 participants gathered there.
The second edition of Drone Days took place from August 27–29, 2025. This time, however, it spanned three days, took place at two locations, and drew more than 480 participants.
On September 10, 2025, b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH was awarded the title “Motos of the North 2025.” Much of the credit for this award goes to the organization and innovation behind the Drone Days
At the awards ceremony held on August 20 at the Lower Saxony Open-Air Museum in Cloppenburg, Drone Days was named the winner in the “Weiterdenker Award” category at the 2026 NordWest Awards of the Northwest Metropolitan Region. The certificate states that Drone Days “contributes in an exemplary manner to innovation and further development.”
From August 26–28, 2026, the third edition of Drone Days took place at Bremen Airport and Oldenburg-Hatten Airfield. With over 80 exhibitors and more than 1,600 daily visitors, this was the largest Drone Days event to date.
The Drone Days Mission is the European competition organized by Drone Days—open to anyone who uses UAS technology to create real added value, both socially and economically. It’s not the most impressive technology that wins, but the one that provides the greatest benefit.
The fourth edition of Drone Days will take place August 25–27, 2027, at Bremen Airport and Oldenburg-Hatten Airfield.
