The panel discussions at Drone Days will kick off on Wednesday, August 26, at 10:40 a.m. with the panel titled “Research, Technology & Smart Infrastructure.”
Research is often years ahead of practical application: AI-powered navigation, swarm technology, new propulsion systems, and digital twins have long been functioning in the lab—but what stands in the way of the journey from a proof-of-concept to a deployed system? Is it the technology, the challenge of certification, or a lack of commercialization? That is exactly what our panel will discuss.
The panel will be moderated by Dipl.-Phys. Kai Brune (Department Head, Fraunhofer IFAM).
Participants include Dipl.-Ing. Johann Dauer (DLR), Dr. Helen Almey (Head of Capability Security & Resilience, ADS Group, UK), Prof. Dr. Christof Büskens (Professor of Optimization and Optimal Control, University of Bremen), Nicholas Balaresque (Managing Director, Deutsche WindGuard Engineering GmbH), and Alexander Wulf (Founder, Aerial Protection Group Project GmbH).
