We are pleased to welcome TOPAS Industriemathematik Innovation gGmbH, a Bremen-based research and technology transfer center, as an exhibitor at Drone Days 2026. The company focuses on a core topic in unmanned aviation: autonomy.
TOPAS was established in 2021 within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bremen and develops algorithms for optimized, assisted, highly automated, and autonomous systems. The goal: to translate existing and new knowledge from mathematics and computer science into tangible benefits for business and society. Whether it’s autonomous driving, digital twins, or energy management systems—TOPAS makes remote-controlled systems autonomous, safer, and more efficient.
Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Mitja Echim sums it up: Almost all technical systems that move from point A to point B—cars, airplanes, satellites, robots—are still controlled by humans today. TOPAS develops the algorithms needed to perform this control autonomously and optimally using computers in the future. The goal is not to replace humans, but to operate these systems more safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
As part of the Digital Hub Industry Bremen and in close cooperation with the University of Bremen, TOPAS is dedicated to technology transfer that will help shape the future of unmanned aviation. We look forward to connecting with you!
