Mr. Picard's professional career began in 1993 at the Federal Criminal Police Office. There, he held various positions in the upper and senior civil service, including one with a special operations unit.

In 2010, Mr. Picard left the Federal Criminal Police Office and took over as head of corporate security at the Hamburg-based Otto Group. In 2020, Mr. Picard moved to Moscow after the Otto Group appointed him managing director of its retail and logistics operations in Russia. 

Since 2026, Mr. Picard has headed Corporate Security for the BLG Group and, in this role, is also responsible for security at BLG’s auto terminals at the port of Bremerhaven.
