DroneSky.Digital is an international ZIM innovation network in which SMEs and research institutions collaborate on the next generation of unmanned and autonomous systems and their coordination. Our starting point is the vision of safely integrating drones into airspace—but our next step goes further: from U-Space to cross-domain mixed operations. We take a holistic approach to air, land, and sea systems. The focus is on concrete R&D projects addressing topics such as the Common Operational Picture, resilient navigation, low-interference communication, AI-supported perception, open standards, and regulatory compliance. This is particularly crucial for Europe: We need technologies that are suitable for civilian use, robust, interoperable, and compatible with safety requirements.
