Dirk Jan Hummel is an experienced project manager specializing in offshore wind energy, maritime innovation, and cross-border collaboration. Asproject manager for SMAS (Smart Maintenance at Sea), he works on innovative solutions for maintenance, logistics, and the deployment of new technologies in the offshore sector.

Asthe founder of NNOW (Noord Nederlandse Offshore Wind), he is committed to fostering collaboration and strengthening the offshore wind industry in the Northern Netherlands. His efforts focus on collaboration between companies, research institutions, and public sector stakeholders, as well as on the further development of the regional offshore wind industry.

In addition, Dirk Jan isthe project director of the OWIC (Offshore Wind Innovation Center) in Eemshaven. In this role, he contributes to the development of a strong innovation ecosystem centered on offshore wind energy and bridges the gaps between technological innovation, business development, and regional collaboration.
