It all starts tomorrow! On Wednesday, August 26, at 3:45 p.m., Drone Days will focus on the question that has the entire industry buzzing: Will unmanned aviation in Germany be treated as professional aviation—or as a special case?
The regulatory framework is expanding faster than integration into airspace. EU Regulation 2021/664 is in effect, but a national framework for U-Space is still lacking, and anyone seeking to conduct commercial BVLOS flights today must plan in months rather than weeks. The panel asks what specific changes are needed to transform approval procedures into routine operations and what role U-Space Service Providers (USSPs) play in this process.
The event will be moderated by Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Rolf Henke (Aviation Coordinator for the State of Bremen).
Participants in the discussion include Sabrina John, M.B.A. (Managing Director, GLVI Gesellschaft für Luftverkehrsinformatik mbH); Florian Vogt, M.Eng. (Head of Flight Operations, Bremen Aviation Authority; Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports, and Transformation); Michael Wieland (Chair of the Advisory Committee, UAV DACH); Maximilian Beck (Drone Specialist, Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transportation) and Mirko Knappe (Managing Director, BUVUS – Federal Association for Unmanned Systems e.V.).
A panel for anyone who wants to know where the journey is headed. You can find all the details at drone-days.de
