We are pleased to welcome OptoPrecision GmbH from Bremen as an exhibitor at Drone Days 2026—a company that is already well known to many in our community.
Founded in 1996 and led by Dr. Martin Nägele, the OptoPrecision Group specializes in the development and manufacture of camera and sensor systems that operate independently of daylight conditions. Approximately 60 employees work in the business units Airborne Systems, Security Systems, and Industrial Solutions. Customers include the German Federal Police, which uses the MODAR multi-sensor system for maritime and coastal surveillance.
In the UAS sector, OptoPrecision has developed its own VTOL drone, the ROCHEN VT-4, which is specifically designed for use in the harsh conditions of the North Sea. With a four-meter wingspan, hybrid propulsion, up to six hours of flight time, and a range of 600 kilometers, the ROCHEN VT-4 is designed for long BVLOS missions in maritime surveillance, infrastructure inspection, and environmental monitoring. As part of the VTOL-EGM joint project, OptoPrecision is collaborating with b.r.m. IT & Aerospace and the Institute of Environmental Physics at the University of Bremen to further develop the system—test flights are taking place at the Oldenburg-Hatten airfield.
OptoPrecision, a Bremen-based company that combines sensor technology, AI, and unmanned aviation under one roof, is represented at Drone Days.
