Kassel Airport at Drone Days 2026

Kassel Airport Will Be an Exhibitor at Drone Days 2026

We are pleased to welcome Flughafen GmbH Kassel as an exhibitor at Drone Days 2026.

Kassel Airport in Calden is not only a regional airport but is increasingly developing into a hub for unmanned aviation. In collaboration with the state of Hesse and the Technical University of Darmstadt, a drone competence center is being established here that will bring together research, testing, training, and the application of unmanned aviation systems under one roof. The opening is still scheduled for 2026, and the state is funding the project with millions of euros.

With its existing infrastructure and low-traffic airspace, Kassel Airport offers ideal conditions for testing drone technologies—the Federal Police, among others, already use the airport for drone training. This makes Kassel Airport an exciting partner for anyone looking to test unmanned systems under real-world conditions.
