Drone Days 2026 is over! For three days, the unmanned aviation community—representing academia, business, politics, and government—gathered at Bremen Airport and the Oldenburg-Hatten Airfield. It’s time to look back.
Day 1 at the Bremenhalle at Bremen Airport
The event kicked off with a focus on professional exchange. Three panels featuring high-profile participants addressed research and smart infrastructure, the protection of critical infrastructure, and regulation and U-Space. Bremen’s mayor and President of the Bundesrat, Dr. Andreas Bovenschulte, Senator Kristina Vogt, and our patrons Uwe Schmidt, Member of the Bundestag, and Bastian Ernst, Member of the Bundestag, provided important insights. A special guest this year was our partner country, the Netherlands, represented by Meindert Stolk, Regional Minister for Economic Affairs and Innovation for the Province of South Holland in the Netherlands.
Days 2 & 3 at the Oldenburg-Hatten Airfield
This is where things got practical. Over the course of the two days, more than 40 exhibitor presentations and pitches provided insights ranging from sensor technology to drone defense and new business models. And during the flight demonstrations, the technology literally took to the skies: Here, various exhibitors showcased what unmanned systems are capable of today.
Many thanks to our partners, exhibitors, and the unmanned aviation community

Drone Days Mission: The European Drone Challenge, which recognizes true added value
And here’s a sneak peek: With the Drone Days Mission, we’re launching our European Drone Challenge. It’s open to anyone who uses UAS technology to create real added value—both socially and economically. Our guiding principle: Only those who fly can win. No concept papers, no theory. Instead, every solution must ultimately prove itself in the air. It’s not the most impressive technology that wins, but the one that delivers the greatest benefit.
Save the Date: Drone Days 2027 will take place August 25–27, 2027. See you there!
Warm regards
The Drone Days Team
Yours, Harald Rossol
