On Thursday, August 27, 2026, Dr. Christian Pundt, District Administrator of the Oldenburg District, will deliver opening remarks to the participants of Drone Days at the Oldenburg-Hatten Airfield.
Dr. Christian Pundt knows Oldenburg-Hatten Airport and the town of Hatten like no one else: From 2014 to 2021, he served as mayor of Hatten before being elected district administrator of Oldenburg District in November 2021. He won the first round of voting as an independent candidate with approximately 63 percent of the vote.
Before entering politics, Dr. Christian Pundt served in the Oldenburg Police Department and earned his doctorate at the University of Bremen. As a lecturer, he taught criminology at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Bremen and leadership studies at the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Münster.
The Oldenburg district is of particular importance to Drone Days: it is home to the Oldenburg-Hatten airfield and the Hatten-UAS German Flight Center, which serves as the centerpiece of Drone Days on days two and three. The fact that the district administrator is delivering opening remarks at the event underscores the region’s support for the further development of unmanned aviation in the area.
Drone Days 2026 will take place from August 26 to 28, 2026. You can find all the information here.
